Help with Castles S1F2

The terminal has a top-level Supervisor Password that will manage access to all payment application functions.

The Supervisor Password will either be pre-configured prior to the terminal being delivered or set during terminal setup.

In the latter case the Supervisor Password is set by entering it twice. If the two entered passwords don't match an error message will be displayed. The password must contain a minimum of 6 alphanumeric characters. When password requirements are met, a message is displayed to confirm it has been successfully created.

Initial setting of terminal security level

Prior to taking card payments the next step is to set the terminal’s security level. The security level has three options:

Use Supervisor Password – the Supervisor Password will be requested for all the menu items. 

Continue with no password - the Supervisor Password will only be prompted for Refund transactions and Password menu items.

Configure passwords - this option gives the flexibility of setting up custom passwords for multiple menu items. This provides maximum flexibility when the terminal is used by multiple operators with varying authorities.

Note: The Password menu will always be protected with the Supervisor Password.

Important

If the application is exited prior to setting the security type (or if the connection is interrupted), the next time the application is run the operator will be requested to set the security type.

Changing Supervisor Passwords

From the main menu go into the Passwords menu. Enter the Supervisor Password. 

The next screen will display the current security type and a “Change Supervisor Password” button.  

Enter the new Supervisor Password. Once the password is successfully updated, a message will be displayed to confirm the Supervisor Password has changed. 

Changing security level

After the initial setup the security level can be changed at any given time. Any change to security level requires the entry of the Supervisor Password.

From the main menu go to the Passwords menu. Enter the Supervisor Password. The next screen will display the current security level; to change the level tap on the arrow and select the new security level

If the “no password” security level is selected a prompt will be displayed to inform the user only Refund transactions will be Supervisor Password protected.

Custom Password

Custom Passwords can be configured to protect individual terminal functions.

Once the security level is successfully set to "configure passwords", Custom Password(s) can be configured. There is a limit of 5 Custom Passwords which can be set on the terminal.

The Custom Password(s) must have an associated name which can be entered via the displayed keyboard. Each custom password should contain at least 6 alphanumeric characters. The password is entered twice. If the password entries don't match an error message will be displayed. When password validation is complete, the menu items it will protect can be selected. 

The assign password screen lists the menu items which can be protected by the entered Custom Password. In the upper part of the screen there is a “search" option allowing the user to search/ filter through all menu items. 

If there are items already password protected the prompt "already has a password", will be displayed.

If a new Custom Password is assigned to an already protected item a confirmation will be requested to overwrite the old Custom Password. 

Password was successfully created will be displayed once a Custom Password has been set and menu items assigned.

Note: Each menu item can have just ONE Custom Password assigned. 

Deleting Custom Passwords

From the main menu go to the Passwords menu Item. Enter the Supervisor Password. 

The next screen will display the current security type; if the security type is set to Custom Passwords the existing password will be listed on this page.  

Select the "delete" password icon for a specific Custom Password. Confirmation of the action will be requested. Once the password is successfully deleted, a message will indicate it has been removed.

If all Custom Passwords are deleted and Password menu exit is requested, a notification will state; No Custom Passwords created, and the security type will change to “No password”. At this point it is possible to go back and set up at least one Custom Password.

Changing Custom Passwords

From the main menu go to Passwords menu Item. Enter the Supervisor Password. 

The next screen will display the current security type; if the security type is set Custom Passwords the existing password will be listed on this page.  

Select the "Edit" password icon for a specific Custom Password and the new password can be entered. Confirmation the password has changed will be displayed. 

Custom Passwords will be locked after 3 failed attempts.

To unlock Custom Passwords several steps need to be taken:

1.    Navigate to the Passwords menu. Enter the Supervisor Password.

2.    Select the "unlock" icon to the specific Custom Password and enter the new password twice.

3.    By tapping the Continue button a serial number and current date/time will be displayed.

4.    The user will be informed that he/she needs to contact Opayo support to receive the reset code (valid for a defined period of time).

5.    Once the code is verified the user can input the new password.

A confirmation is displayed informing the user that the password is successfully updated.

• Place finger and thumb on the ribbed edges either side of the paper lid.
• Open the compartment and remove the empty roll.
• Insert the open paper roll in the compartment.
• Ensure that the paper is sticking out of the terminal just behind the Castles logo.
• Hold the paper sticking out of the terminal.
• Close the compartment (there will be a click noise when closed), and tear off the excess paper.

Note: Tear off a complete turn of the paper to avoid printing on the adhesive residue.

A sale transaction is started in one of two ways depending on the menu layout set for the terminal.

Default menu layout: Press the Sale button displayed on the idle screen and start entering the Sale amount.

Side menu layout: Immediately start entering the Sale amount. In this configuration the terminal automatically assumes you are performing a Sale transaction.

Press Clear to delete the number entered.

Press Cancel to cancel the full amount.

Press Continue once the Sale amount is entered and present the payment method:

Contactless 

Present the card or payment device above the contactless reader logo on the printer lid

Chip and PIN

Insert the card in the card reader. 

The Cardholder will be prompted to enter their PIN. 

Magstripe 

Swipe the card through the magstripe reader at the side of the terminal.  

Keyed Card Present 

 Select the Key the card button on the payment screen. The card PAN, expiry date, and the 3-digit security code (from the back of the card) should be entered. 

If the terminal is DCC enabled, the terminal will connect with the Elavon host for the latest exchange rates and display the DCC conversion options. 

The cardholder can either accept DCC by selecting the flag of their currency or reject DCC by selecting the flag of the merchant’s currency. 

The transaction can be cancelled by pressing the red cancel button. 

The transaction will display a screen stating Transaction in progress as connection is made to the Elavon host for approval. The terminal will display transaction approved when the approval has been received.  

If Visa Multisensory or Mastercard Sonic are enabled the terminal will display the sounds and animation for Visa & MC approvals.  

Press Yes to print the merchant copy receipt if prompted.

Press OK at the tear off merchant receipt prompt.

Press Duplicate Copy to reprint the receipt

If the card has not been removed the terminal will prompt to remove it after the receipt(s) have been printed.

• If your terminal is set to the default menu layout then select Refund button on the idle screen.
• If your terminal is set to side menu then swipe right and select Refund.
• Enter the Supervisor Password if requested.
• Enter the amount of the refund.
• Press Continue to process.
• Press Clear to change the amount. 
• Press Cancel to halt the transaction.

Present the card to receive the refund using the available payment methods.

Contactless – tap card or device.

Insert Card – insert card into the chip and PIN reader at the bottom of the device. The cardholder will be requested to enter their PIN. 

Swipe Card – swipe card into the card reader at the side the device.

Manual Entry – Select the “Key the card” button on the payment screen. The card PAN, expiry date, and the 3-digit security code (from the back of the card) should be entered.

If promoted the Cardholder should enter their PIN. 

If the terminal is DCC enabled, the terminal will connect with the Elavon host for the latest exchange rates and will display the DCC conversion. 

The cardholder can accept DCC by selecting the flag of their currency or reject DCC by selecting the flag of the merchant’s currency. 

The transaction can be cancelled by pressing the red cancel button.

Press Yes to print the merchant copy receipt if prompted.

Press OK at the tear off merchant receipt prompt.

Press Reprint to reprint the receipt.

The terminal may prompt to remove the card when the merchant receipt has printed.

The terminal has a Batching option available in the Main Menu. When selected this option will send all transactions stored since the last batch for authorisation. Once completed, the batch is cleared and closed (all transactions within the batch have now been processed. The terminal resets the batch to begin the collation of new transactions). 

To print the batch report press the Print Batch Report button.

Cashback: go to Transactions options and use the slider to enable/ disable cashback functionality. 

ROC text: go to Transactions options and use the slider to enable/ disable ROC text.  

Select ‘Networking’ in Admin Settings

Select ‘WiFi’ 

All available WiFi networks will be displayed. Select the network of choice and enter the WiFi password.

Note: The terminal will automatically connect to the strongest available network which has been previously saved.

If supplied separately the TNS SIM card should be inserted into the back of the terminal prior to installation.

To install the SIM card remove the terminal back cover by sliding it downwards. Remove the battery and insert the SIM into the SIM 2 slot (see diagram). Reinstate the battery and back cover.
